There are a lot of things in this world that pisses me off. People are the biggest one.
In this country, we have rights. These rights allow us to say and do almost anything we want as long as it does not interfere with others rights. But I ask you this. Why do we worry what others think? Why is this country so damn politically correct?
Does it really hurt to voice your opinion even if it offends someone else? Isn't it your right to voice your opinion even if it stinks? If it offends, doesn't it mean that it might be hitting a mark or you touched a nerve?
So I say just say what you want, without being disrespectful to others. Don't worry if it is "PC" or not. Just get it off your chest.
I don't care if I offend you. That is my right. So now it is time to let loose.
I don't like the offering of either party in our Presidential elections. They all suck. I might agree with some of the things they say, but they will never get anywhere with their ideas because other numb nuts that are elected will just shut them down.
I don't like someone telling me that I shouldn't drive my truck. This happened today. This woman came over at the gas pump and told me that my truck was the reason we have high fuel prices. I told her to stuff it up her ass. I then told her that my truck had nothing to do with the high prices and that our dear politicians and their screwed up foreign policy had much more to do with it. I kept going on about why our country was paying more for fuel. Good thing the pumps click off. If they didn't, my fill up would have cost more than the $160.00 that I paid. A DPS officer was filling his car next to me and about lost it. When the lady left, he asked for my autograph. He made my day.
I was called a sexist a few months back, all because someone asked what I thought about Clinton making it to the Oval office. I said that there was a better chance of a black male making it before a woman. I am not a sexist; it is only an observation of people in America. I just didn't think America was ready for a woman in that position. I am still up in the air if Obama will make it or not. Not because I am a racist, but because of America. If it makes you happy, I don't like McCain either. I think we will be screwed anyway it goes.
I want to live my life the way I want. I will try to make it. If I fall down, then I will pull myself back up by my boot straps. (Yes I do wear boots!) If someone offers me a hand when needed, I will accept, but please allow me to return the favor if needed. I might even tell them no thanks, but I will always say "thanks".
I want to live by our Constitution. It was written to limit the government, and guarantee the rights to all free men. I am a free man. Anything that limits my rights is a violation and should be dealt with immediately.
I don't want someone telling me how to raise my kids, how much I should be paid, or how to live my life. As long as I don't violate any ones rights, I should be allowed to do what I need to do to survive. Can we send that message to Washington?
I wish we could get back to a time when someone's word and a hand shake meant something. A time when helping someone was not a rare occasion, but the norm. I long for the time when the world wanted to come to America and try for the life that we had. A time when the only ones who disliked Americans were the ones who did it out of envy not for political reasons. I guess I am just getting old. Isn't it nice to be able to dream?
I have been called a tree hugger, a redneck, a conservative, a democrat, a liberal, and republican. I have been called a murderer just because I wore the uniform of our military. I have also been called an ass hole. I think I fit into all of those labels. I am one thing above all, an American.
You can hate me if you want, but here I am. I carry a gun but respect your right to not have one. I don't care for abortion unless it is a matter of life or death, but it is your right to do what you need to do. I don't like people who work the system for benefits from the government, but want those who need help to have it. I hate paying taxes for things that we don't need, but feel our military should be a top priority and have all the funding it needs. The government is not for career politicians, but for those who wish to serve and give back to our country. I think that your elected official works for you and you should have the right to hire the best man for the job, or fire him/her if she fails.
The people of this country have the right to choose the people who will voice their opinion, not some political party. The people also have the right to choose their form of government. The government can not take that right away, or they will risk another revolution. I really hope that never happens.
For those of you who sit in the middle and hear it from both sides. You have the power in your hands. Get informed, vote, run for office. Serve the country that was created for you. Don't let the minority run your life. Get out there and work to uphold the rights of all people in this great country. Take that oath that many great and not so great people have taken. Just do it. What do we have to lose? A lot more than you think.
You can agree with me, or you can disagree. I don't care. It is nice to have support, but not necessary. You have the right to do either. I also have the right to listen to you or not. That is the beauty of it all.
